Slack

Slack is the team’s primary tool for both internal and external chat communication.

Internal

*-corner: This type of channel is for general discussions that are not work-related and are of an informal nature. It can include discussions about sports, games, news, and other non-work-related topics.

Ex. comida-corner, gaming-corner, music-corner, and news-corner

*-team: This type of channel is for specific teams within the company, such as the marketing team or the development team. These channels are used to discuss work-related topics and share updates.

Ex. engineering-team, admin-support-team, and marketing-team

*-team-leads: This type of channel is intended for team leaders and is used to discuss team management topics, project planning, and other leadership-related issues.

*-activity: This type of channel is intended for connected services or tools that need to be monitored by a specific team. For example, an update channel for a cloud service used in the company.

Ex. jira-activity, toggl-activity, and github-activity

*-office: This type of channel is intended for communication between different offices of the company. It can include information about local events, office news, and other office-related topics.

Ex. main-office, and remote-office

*-happy-birthday: This type of channel is used to announce team members' birthdays and coordinate celebrations. It can include gift planning, event organization, and more.

proj-*: This type of channel is used for specific projects and is temporary in nature. It is created during the project's duration and closed when the project is completed.

Ex. proj-blair-candy, proj-spicy-lingerie and proj-sleek-shop

company-*: This type of channel is used for topics related to the company or business. It can include discussions about company strategy, product announcements, industry news, and more.

Ex. company-leads, and company-recruitment

*-chapter: channels regroup all teammates belonging to each Chapter.

Ex. bigcommerce-chapters, and shopify-chapter

Video Calls

Google Meet is the team’s primary tool for both internal and external video-based communication.

While Slack offers video calls, the team predominantly uses Google Meet for all internal meetings:

• One-on-one feedback sessions.
• All-hands sessions.
• Direct calls between teammates.

Regarding video calls with external parties, Google Meet is also always used when Minnek is the host. The main use cases are job interviews and client meetings.

Email

Every teammate has a company email @minnekdigital.com on Google Workspace. To maintain consistency between all email signatures, and to ensure that they all look good, use an email signature template. Follow these steps to set up a signature.
